TOEFL!

Oh my God, I’ve passed* the TOEFL!!! :)

I just crossed out Dream #2 in my Dreambook. God is good all the time. Thanks to everyone who prayed! :)

Thanks to St. Jude Thaddeus, whom I prayed a novena to 9 days before the exam, the 9th day being October 28, his feast day. Thanks also to St. Anthony of Padua, whom I asked to pray that I may succeed in all my studies and examinations. And most of all, thanks to Jesus Christ, Who granted all our prayers. AMEN.

*Passing scores based on FPGEC standards: Reading=21, Listening=18, Speaking=26, Writing=24. Each section weighs 30 points. Total points=120.

Priorities

Days are quick. It’s about time that I set my priorities.

Priority #1: FPGEE

Priority #2: TOEFL iBT

Priority #3: PharmTech employment (while waiting for the test date and the FPGEC certificate)

The rest of my life begins today.

Forty Days: Day 40

Mommy bought me a TOEFL iBT book, the one published by Kaplan. It’s complete with 2 audio CDs and a practice test CD. It says on the cover, “High score guaranteed! Or your money back!” LOL at that. :)

Looking back on my previous posts, I can say that my forty days have been a variety. I ate a lot of good food, fell in love with durian, got tired a lot, switched from being sane to being a fangirl then to being sane again, met inspiring professors, graduated from college the second time, and received a medal. All of these—in a span of forty days.

A Blessed Palm Sunday to everyone!

Forty Days: Day 38

I learned from Facebook that Brylee, our highschool valedictorian just got a score of 105 in TOEFL iBT. That was really high since he only needed 79!  All he’s needing now is a student visa and he’d be set to go on July. He will take his Ph.D at University of Houston and teach Chemistry at the same time. All expenses will be covered. That’s how great he is! I PM-ed him on YM and inquired about the TOEFL since I’ll be taking it also this year. He just told me to read the book by Kaplan. So the next time I drop by a bookstore, I will be looking for that book.

Forty Days: Day 21

I’m suddenly back to my sane self.

Here’s a list of what I should do in the next few months:

The rest of March: Fix things with PRC (get a license, certificate, FPGEE requirements, etc.); finish the Manan Schroff series.

April: Give up piano and learn how to cook (if not possible, play the piano only for 1.5 hours at night); converse in English everyday to prepare for the TOEFL; watch only “House MD” and “CSI” during break times (no other shows allowed); visit the CNN website everyday and watch/listen to the latest news; finish Shargel, Biostat, and OrgChem.

May: Follow-up request for transcript, diploma, certificate, copy of course content with the Ovada school; review everything; study as if the exam is on June and not on September; send requirements to ECE and NABP.

June: Must already be prepared to take the tests (FPGEE and TOEFL); wait for the ATT (authorization to test) coming from the NABP.

Dreams Update: FEBRUARY 2010

All I want for now is to pass the FPGEE and TOEFL on September, receive my FPGEC certificate and have my internship ASAP, take the NAPLEX in California, become a really great pharmacist and earn big time.
